At the time of what is known as “The First Intifada” in 1988, Jewish professionals organized The Jewish Committee on the Middle East (JCOME) and published a historic Statement of Principles in a number of magazines and newspapers — First Publication of JCOME Statement on back cover of THE NATION – Second Publication in the NEW YORK REVIEW OF BOOKS. It was also reprinted in full in The Congressional Record and JCOME was invited to testify before a special Congressional Committee. From 1988 to 1994 JCOME took out many full-page magazine and newspaper ads in noteable publications, including The New York Review of Books, The Nation, LAWeekly, The Progressive, Roll Call, The Village Voice, The Washington Report, In These Times, and The Washington City Paper — JCOME.Org.
JCOME founder Mark Bruzonsky published a unique pamplet by Yale Professor Charles Black titled LET US RETHINK OUR ‘SPECIAL RELATIONSHIP’ WITH ISRAEL and produced these unique video documentaries linked to below. At the time Bruzonsky was selected to be one of 10 international Middle East experts featured on the interactive CD video titled LINES IN THE SAND.
